Release v1.0 (alpha) is out (January 2021)

Available for Nano ETH, Micro ETH, and Standard ETH devices.

This is the first release of this new year, so happy 2021 to all our lovely customers. As a new year’s release, it bridles substantial changes. The v1.0 represents our first leap towards the new generation of our streaming control.

What’s New

  • The major change under-the-hood is the introduction to our Remote App, the new effortless management system. We’ll show more features soon stay tuned;
  • Moving to the single-page application. This is a big change in our development paradigm that allows designing native and WEB UI in one-shot. The user experience is improved because the control is smooth and responsive;
  • Unify event management. Now every Broadcaster support at least 8 different events. Use Always for retro-compatible mode or discover the new flexibility by combining different events on Standard ETH.

Know Issues

  • Remote App, as well as, Device App is in alpha version. So if in a critical environment do not upgrade to this version a bunch of bugs must still be discovered and corrected. Please let us know if you have any trouble with it at all!

Release v0.5 is out (September 2020)

Available for Nano ETH and Micro ETH devices.

Fixed Bugs

  • Fix stability issues that create random crashes in unseen conditions;
  • Fix auto-connect at startup issue that prevents new connections after a power cycle;
  • Fix a memory management issue that creates random crashes.

Know Issues

  • UDP/RTP is not available yet;
  • Same as the previous version.

Release v0.4 is out (May 2020)

Features

  • Add source media sync (Change playback speed to match server stream), works for MP3, AAC, and OggVorbis with a samplerate up to 48000Hz;
  • Add preliminary support for a custom delay in tens of milliseconds;
  • Test FLAC codec up to 44100 Hz, 24-bit, and 1 channel (Mono);
  • Test FLAC codec up to 32000 Hz, 24-bit, and 2 channel (Stereo);

Fixed Bugs

  • Prevent buffer overflow for long streams with server media sync;
  • Fix NTP time sync, now time is got faster;
  • Fix “Content-Type: mpeg” issue that prevents MPEG playback;
  • Fix artefacts pops when the volume is changed;
  • Improve connection check. Failover recognize schema now.

Known Issues

  • FLAC decoding is not available for 24-bit stereo @ 48KHz;
  • Same as the previous version;
  • LEDs signalling is not supported yet, it will be added in the next release.

Release v0.3 is out (April 2020)

This release add support for the new local network Discoverer. Available for Nano ETH devices.

Features

  • Add support for new (LAN) Discoverer, name and serial number are shown;
  • Add experimental support for remote control (NAT). Not yet ready for final users.

Fixed Bugs

  • Fix web UI issues;
  • Fix null exception when two interfaces are detected.

Known Issues

  • Same as in the previous version;
  • Web pages may freeze for a few seconds randomly during the day.
  • Unexpected crash requires a hard reset or power cycle.

Release v0.2 is out (April 2020)

This firmware release fix several defects and add a new support for HTTP streams. Available for Nano ETH devices.

Supported Features

  • Add support for Ogg Vorbis codec up to 500 kbps and 48 kHz;
  • Add HTTP Basic Authentication with username and password for both primary and fail over hosts.

Fixed Bugs

  • Fix several web UI issues;
  • Fix event update issue that stops Always events.

Known Issues

  • Same as in the previous version;
  • Unexpected crash requires a hard reset or power cycle.

Release v0.1 is out (February 2020)

The first public firmware is finally available for Nano ETH devices.

Supported Features

  • Add support for event-based programming;
  • Add support for 4 operation modes: Receiver, Local Player, Transmitter, and Relay Sender;
  • Add support for the WEB remote firmware update. Not yet available;
  • Add support for custom NTP server;
  • Support HTTP, IceCast, and ShutCast streams;
  • Support CVB and VBR MP3 (MPEG layer III and MPEG layer II) codec up to 320kbps and 48 kHz;
  • Support AAC (ISO/IEC 13818-7 and ISO/IEC 14496-3) codec;
  • Support FLAC codec up to 48 kHz, 24-bit, and 2 channels;
  • Factory reset through the onboard jumper and web UI;

Fixed Bugs

  • Fix various UI issues when showing status page;
  • Fix factory reset issue when boot first time;

Known Issues

  • Overlapping events are not checked, multiple events can wrongly be created sharing the same interval time generating and unexpected behaviour. The user must care to not overlap events.
  • The user config backup is not available yet.
  • Remote WEB-NAT management is not available yet.
  • The dashboard is incomplete.
  • Help pages are a placeholder only.
